This project explores expressions of anger: it examines how socio-economic structures not only shape our responses to anger but also influence our perception leading to anger, particularly from a feminist perspective. I investigate the potential of anger to work as a course of agency and change.

My work is a solo performance combining movement, mimicry, live music, spoken word and lighting. On a darkened stage, a handheld torch illuminates and exaggerates the shapes of the body and face. Live flute playing is superimposed on field recordings and interspersed with silence. Paired with my choreography, these elements create a sensory environment for both triggering events and their emotional outcomes.

Grounded in interdisciplinary research from theatre, dance and critical theory, my project draws notably on Soraya Chemaly’s writings on rage. Through this multi sensory approach, I investigate how the body deals with anger and how it can be channeled towards positive transformations.
